What UC HEARS aims to do
Hearing health is often fragmented: screening, diagnosis, devices, counseling, and long-term support can feel disconnected. UC HEARS aims to support a more coordinated, patient-centered approach across the University of California system.
Support consistent, evidence-informed pathways so patients can find appropriate next steps faster.
Advance hearing health research, implementation, and real-world impact across diverse settings.
Improve clinician and public education with plain-language tools and updated, practical guidance.
Build resources that reflect patient priorities, access barriers, and community needs.
How UC HEARS connects to UCSF EARS
UCSF EARS is a public-facing platform of tools and guides. UC HEARS is envisioned as a broader collaborative effort. EARS can serve as one way to share patient-friendly resources openly while the initiative develops.
